Accepting Donations for Holiday Assistance Programs

Every year The Salvation Army and its volunteers in local communities raise money to help those who need financial assistance during the holidays. But this year that need is anticipated to be even greater (155% greater). The pandemic as brought a lot of economic hardship, and its impact has hit everyone. Bowman Plains Self Storage is collaborating with The Salvation Army to accept holiday donations to help fund services that will benefit the Frederick MD community. The Salvation Army’s Rescue Christmas

Normally, The Salvation Army’s Rescue Christmas program is funded by the red kettles you would see outside stores during the holiday season. But with fewer people carrying cash and more people shopping online, you will see fewer red kettles as you do your Christmas shopping this year. The Salvation Army relies on the funds from the red kettles, and it needs our help to assure our neighbors get the necessary resources.

When you donate in Frederick MD, you can have peace of mind knowing your money goes back into the Frederick community. Your neighbors and friends are the ones directly benefiting. The Salvation Army’s services include grocery and bill pay assistance. Donations also go toward supporting homeless shelters in the area and providing meals for families.
